Working with Eric Wright for Lancashire County Council Resurf are completing works on the A6 Link Way in Preston.

Congestion has been an issue on this road for the last 40 years, with more than 22,000 vehicles passing through on the A6 every day. These road works and repairs have been proposed as a solution to the road safety, environmental and congestion problems in and around the area.

This new road will support housing sites to create over 1,400 new homes, as well as enabling full development of new and future employment sites in East Preston creating over 5,000 new jobs.

Construction of the bypass will reduce traffic travelling through the centre of Broughton on Garstang Road by up to 90% and improve journey times into and out of Preston. It will also create better connectivity to the wider road network, with benefits to the development and economic growth of the local area.

Firstly, Resurf regulated areas that had severe pot holes that were causing damage to pedestrian’s cars and plane out areas to create an even surface for laying the new material.

Once we completed the 709Tn of Road Base for the repairs and to bring the surface levels up to there correct levels we then laid the Binder course to the rest of the areas finally topping off the main road and completion of the footpaths in our third visit.

We are currently working with Eric Wright on several different projects due to how successful this project was.
